DISCUSSION FACILITATOR
I launched the Queer Umbrella after my own experience in trying to find queer community. As I continued primary and secondary research on community and belongingness for the lgbtq+ community, I realized that community organizing, programming, and partnerships were essential to the well-being of our community members, both in Denver, CO and across the US. Therefore, it is our mission to make queer community accessible. From creating and overseeing the creative direction to strategy and direction to in-person event management, I have worn many hats to start and continue running this organization. We have hosted over 60 events in Colorado and Rhode Island, along with an annual creative fundraiser for local trans and lgbtq+ non-profits. Our latest partnership was with Arc’teryx, hosting a queer prom for pride month.

Queer Rounds
In our Queer Rounds series, we lead the conversation, you bring your passion and curiosity, and together among other leaders we’ll brainstorm actionable solutions to build a more inclusive future.
Our framework is rooted in:

Round 1: Employee Resource Groups and Their Potential For Impact
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are evolving and so is their potential – LGBTQIA+ ERGs can leverage its population of engaged, queer leaders within and outside of their companies to reach and activate the queer community. This discussion focuses on connecting entire ERG communities and sharing expertise, resources, and best practices for sustainability and infrastructure.
The collaborative and innovative nature of ERGs opens the door to not only growing the next generation of LGBTQIA+ leaders, but also creating business opportunities and support systems in new, groundbreaking ways.
We examine how to combine our energy, resources, connections, and passion to create an ecosystem of queer activism and leadership that lifts all groups and individuals simultaneously.
Round 2: Safe and Queer-Affirming Spaces
Queer spaces provide power, safety, validity, and security for the LGBTQIA+ community. How can different industries work together to aid in providing critical, affirming resources and cultivate community? While most queer spaces are centered around nightlife and drinking, there is a serious lack of affirming resources and social support, especially for young LGBTQIA+ adults.
Safe and queer spaces are necessary now more than ever. How can different industries work together to aid in providing critical, affirming resources and cultivate community? We will discuss the most pressing issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community, and identify resources and support for creating safer spaces for queer people – in restrooms, sports, social and professional circles, and everywhere.

A QUEER SPACE FOR AFFORDABLE THRIFTING
YardSale is a queer, neighborhood thrifting pop-up designed to help our community and allies upgrade their wardrobes affordably. We recognize the importance of self-expression for queer individuals, especially trans and gender non-conforming folks. Why not revel in the joys of authenticity and self-expression while thrifting for a good cause.

FIRESIDE CHAT FACILITATOR / CO-FACILITATOR
This startup began with a group of alumni and friends from the University of Denver during the rise of COVID and aimed to bring together community to facilitate solution-driven discussions on various industries. From facilitator to outreach coordination to branding to content and website management, it was the collaborative effort of the entire team that created what is Fireside at Five today.

5-part Education and Action Series with The Center on Colfax
Organized, prepared, and facilitated queer chats discussing relevant and pressing issues in the community.
Fireside at Five and Kai Consulting hosted a five-part roundtable series with The Center on Colfax that focused on driving action and change through collaborative discussion with community members. This year, Pride month came at a critical moment. As we approached 51 years since the Stonewall Riots, we focused our efforts on amplifying voices within Black communities, especially our queer black folx. We facilitated educational conversations to bring connection and understanding to foster change, while focusing on intersectionality, as it relates to activism.
